Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By using OwnedIt's Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of Services

OwnedIt provides tools to create, manage, and monitor assignments in connection with Google Drive and related Google services. When enabled by a teacher, an assignment may require a monitored work session to ensure academic integrity.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use our Services.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data.
  • Interfere with the operation of the Services.
  • Attempt to monitor or record another user's activity without their knowledge and consent.

5. Google API Services

OwnedIt's use and transfer of information from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We request drive.file to create, open, and save only those files you choose to work on with OwnedIt.
  • We use drive.appdata solely to store configuration settings tied to your account.
  • We do not request or access any other Google Drive files or Gmail data.

6. Monitoring Feature

  • Monitoring is only active when you start a monitored assignment.
  • You are notified before any monitoring begins, and you can choose whether to proceed.
  • Monitoring captures only session metadata necessary to validate assignment completion and integrity.

7. Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services at any time without notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnedIt is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
